What is Manehu lā?
Manehu lā is part of the new GEMS (Green Energy Market
Securitization) program in partnership with the State of Hawaii DBEDT
(Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism) to provide
special financing to Hawaii homeowners, Hawaiian Home Lessees,
community centers, charter schools and more. If you want solar but
have been turned down for financing in the past, Manehu lā can help.
Manehu lā is designed for the residents of Hawaii to enable
installation of photovoltaic systems for homeowners and non-profit
organizations. The program is offered by Native Hawaiian Energy and
Island Pacific Energy.
Manehu lā is about more than just paying for solar. It’s about

Have your HECO bill ready and call (808) 286-8463. Our office will
start the application process and get you approved. This should take
15 minutes. The next step will be a visit to your home to assess your
