Home Page - Example attached
I want out home page to be a wall that a client is viewing. It needs to contain at least 5 images in photo frames or some representation of that. The user will click on the photo and go to that section of the website. When we build the site we need the ability to change the images in the photo frames.
What I don't like about our current site (bkaptured.com) are the following things - I know most of these comments relate to building but hopefully help you understand all the issues.
1) When a user comes to the site they continually are looking at weddings and portraiture, i want a clean delineation of these areas as our clients are one or the other.
2) The site with its current emphasis on galleries is not searchable.
3) Current software is difficult to load blogs and requires significant time to upload photos.
4) Main site is built in Flash, Mobile site needed to be built without Flash. I want the site going forward to work with both Computers and Mobile devices.
5) Images must load quickly
I have used polariods as an example but want to consider frames, whether wooden or metal. Quality is the key message. The site needs to be clean and professionally designed. It needs to convey a message of fun, professionalism and quality.
We need to be able to display text on the page that is searchable. For example terms such as photography, portraiture, weddings, photo, Sydney
We also need Facebook and Pinterest links on the homepage
The second level pages needs to be a common template across all. If you look at our current website you will see galleries and blogs. The blogs are our major emphasis. We are happy with our current colour scheme but will also consider changing it. Images and site may display better with a cream or white background rather than the dark grey we use now. This is up to the designer. We want to see original work.
We are happy with our current logo and have attached a copy below. It can be used as positive or negative.
The file I have attached is just a mock up to give a starting point. Please use any elements you require to construct a wall and area to display text. The wall can be any substance, it does not need to be brick or concrete or wooden. The photo frames can be metal, wooden, digital...anything...this is up to you the designer. I don't feel that the wall i have designed conveys a message of professionalism as it doesn't showcase the photos how i would like.
The original idea is based on the images hanging in a gallery or your own home...
