I already have a logo that I need updated to make more modern (attached). It says "Edgin Johnson Financial", but we are changing our name to EJC Insurance & Financial. It seems like it needs some kind of depth or dimension. I want to keep the same colors, or very close to it. The middle piece needs to be missing ("we are the missing piece" is a part of our messaging). I sketched up a few ideas and have also attached them. I would like one of two ideas, the 1st being the one I'm most excited about because it's most like my existing logo, the 2nd I find an interesting option:
1. Make our existing logo seem more deep or 3D. Make the center (the missing piece) stand out somehow. The missing piece is the most important part of our logo. Make use of the negative space in the middle piece.
2. Turn the logo into an emblem by turning it into a coin (see attached sketch). It would add more negative space around the outer parts of the logo to tie in the missing piece in the middle.
